Training the Next Generation of Health Care Providers

Atrius Health’s long-term relationships with prestigious medical and nursing schools, hospitals and universities allows us to sponsor teaching programs across the health care profession. Our Residency Program in Primary Care and Population Medicine provides medical residents with unparalleled exposure and experiences in the realm of health care innovation, management and leadership. Students, residents and fellows have opportunities to train within several of Atrius Health's clinical subspecialties, including Dermatology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics and Palliative Care, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Orthopedic Surgery. Atrius Health’s nurse preceptors play a critical role in the development of future practitioners by providing opportunities to complete direct care practicums or rotations focused on leadership, research, informatics or quality initiatives. Our partnerships with local universities also allow for training opportunities for pharmacy students and residents, physical therapy, health sciences and diagnostic medical sonography students.

Dr. Sarah Post, Atrius Health primary care physician and preceptor, discusses Atrius Health's unique approach to education and how the organization supports clinicians who want to teach.
