We are therefore pleased to offer our patients the option of an E-Visit for the treatment of a select number of simple, common illnesses. If you are experiencing a possible urinary tract infection (UTI), unexplained vaginal discharge or itching, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 and would like to get treatment recommendations, our new E-Visit functionality in the MyHealth Online patient portal may be right for you.
How does an E-Visit work?
Unlike a video (or in-person) visit where you schedule a time to meet face-to-face with a clinician, an E-Visit simply requires you to complete a questionnaire with your symptoms, then submit it for a clinician to review. In your MyHealth Online account, go to the “Menu” option at the top of your screen and select “Symptom Checker” from the drop-down list. Follow the prompts to answer questions securely and confidentially about your symptoms and hit “Submit” at the end. That’s it!
Your completed questionnaire will be sent to our team of E-Visit doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to review your symptoms and your medical history. An E-Visit clinician will send you a message with a recommended treatment plan. They can prescribe medications or arrange for follow-up testing as appropriate without the need for you to schedule an appointment.
Please note that if your symptoms do not match a likely diagnosis or you decide you would prefer to have a real-time discussion with a clinician instead, the E-Visit system will offer you the option to make an appointment, ensuring you receive the care you need.
A co-payment may be charged for an E-Visit based on your health plan insurance coverage. This cost will typically be the same as a virtual or in-office visit. If the reviewing clinician feels an office or virtual appointment is needed, they will recommend this treatment path and you will not also be charged for the E-Visit.
How Quickly Can I Get a Response?
For questionnaires submitted before 4:30pm each day, our clinicians can usually respond within a few hours and will usually be able to respond no later than 8:00pm the same day; for those submitted after 4:30pm, the response will be sent the next morning. E-Visits are available 7 days a week with the same turn-around time for a response.Over time, we hope to expand the types of medical conditions we can treat via an E-Visit to provide our patients with high-quality care that is both easy and convenient for them.
