Rotations

During the twelve-month residency program, the resident completes a variety of rotations to gain both patient care and practice management experience.

Required Rotations

  • Patient Counseling and Pharmacy Operations
  • Clinical Pharmacy Administration
  • Drug Information
  • Anticoagulation Management Services
  • Direct Patient Care I & II
  • Direct Patient Care III/APPE Preceptor
  • Informatics
    • Includes exposure to the duties and tasks involved in maintaining the EMR, EpicCare, tools for Internal Medicine and the whole organization, and building of some of these tools
  • Teaching (longitudinal) - the resident will serve as an Instructor of Pharmacy Practice at MCPHS with longitudinal teaching responsibilities
  • Residency Research Project (longitudinal)
  • Drug Information (longitudinal)
  • Staffing

Elective rotations

  • The resident will choose one 4-week elective rotation based on interests and availability that may include:
    • Pain Management
    • Behavioral Health
    • Oncology
