DR. EDWARD NALBAND ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF THE ATRIUS HEALTH BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Braintree, Mass. (May 15, 2008) Atrius Health is pleased to announce that Dr. Edward Nalband has been elected Chairman of the Atrius Health Board of Trustees. Atrius Health is an alliance among five leading community-based medical groups, including Dedham Medical Associates, Granite Medical, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Southboro Medical Group, and South Shore Medical Center.
The Board of Trustees is delighted to have Dr. Nalband as its chairman, says Gene Lindsey, interim president and CEO of Atrius Health. Dr. Nalband brings 23 years of experience to his new role and we are confident that he will prove to be an effective leader for the next phase of development for Atrius Health.
A practicing internist, Dr. Nalband has been a member of the Atrius Health Board of Trustees since its inception. He is currently the Medical Director at one of the founding member groups of Atrius Health, South Shore Medical Center. He practices in the Norwell site where he chairs the Quality Care Committee. He has held numerous positions at South Shore Hospital, including President of the Medical Staff.
Since Atrius Health began 5 years ago, he has been part of the medical management leadership team providing direction for the organization.
I have enjoyed working with Ed over the years and am confident that his understanding of and dedication to our Atrius Health alliance will provide a strong foundation for leading our board, said Stan Sacon, PhD, CEO of South Shore Medical Center.
Dr. Nalband received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In 1981, he received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Minnesota, becoming board certified in internal medicine the same year.
Dr. Nalband resides in Scituate, Mass.
