Who We Are

Five leading medical groups have joined together as Atrius Health, a non-profit alliance, to transform the delivery of health care in eastern Massachusetts. Building on our long and proud history of high quality and preventive care, Dedham Medical Associates, Granite Medical, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Southboro Medical Group and South Shore Medical Center are working together to create a new and proactive approach to patients' health, coordinated by the primary care doctor and medical team.

While each of our Atrius Health medical groups continues to serve its own patients, we also act in concert to bring a broader range of needed services to our communities. All groups will soon share one electronic medical record system, increasing the ease with which patients access the wide range of specialists and diagnostic services across Atrius Health. Our practices work together to meet aggressive goals on issues ranging from diabetes treatment and cancer screening to decreasing wait time for patients and improving physician communication skills.

Atrius Health serves more than 700,000 adult and pediatric patients in over 2.4 million visits annually to our 30 practice locations. Our skilled medical team includes more than 800 physicians and 1,300 other medical professionals, with a combined total of almost 5,500 employees.

The combined Atrius Health practices offer over 35 specialties, from obstetrics to pediatrics, including dental services, oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, sports medicine, allergy, dermatology, surgery and behavioral health - as well as labs, imaging and pharmacies which are conveniently located on-site in many of our offices.

For those cases when our patients require hospital-based services, the medical groups of Atrius Health are affiliated with leading area teaching and community hospitals. Our doctors and other providers accept most major health insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Fallon Community Health Plan, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Neighborhood Health Plan, Tufts Health Plan, and Tufts Medicare Preferred.

Atrius Health Participates in the American Heart Association's Boston Heart Walk

Staff from all five medical groups will join together to participate in the Boston Heart Walk on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Last year, we had 675 employees on our team and raised just under $128,000. This achievement earned Atrius Health the honor of being the #2 overall team! Atrius Health was recognized with a Circle of Excellence Award for the third year in a row. Our team has raised almost $400,000 for the American Heart Association since 2007.
